In the Acts of the Apostles, St. Luke describes how the first community of disciples understood what it looked like to be a follower of Jesus:

Everyone was amazed by the many miracles and wonders that the apostles worked. All the Lord’s followers often met together, and they shared everything they had. They would sell their property and possessions and give the money to each one’s need. Day after day they met together in the temple. They broke bread together in different homes and shared their food happily and freely, while praising God. Everyone liked them, and each day the Lord added to their group others who were being saved.

They shared with one another. Those who were poor received what they needed; those who gave still had what they needed. What a very profound understanding of sharing the goods that we have. God made the world for all, not for a few.

Imagine what it would be like if we really looked around and said, “How can I share what I have so that nobody among us is in need?”  Our world could be changed.  Our hearts would be changed.  We would love more like Jesus loves.

  • Everything our community does depends on our decision. Our generous giving supports God’s work through the parish. God invites us to be generous with all that we have.
  • Our weekly Sunday offering is giving back in thankful response for God’s generosity towards us.
  • God has blessed you with financial resources – for the physical and spiritual needs of all who come here and for the needs of those who suffer.
  • On Most Sacred Heart’s commitment card, how will you choose to share your financial resources for God and one another?
