Blessed Advent to you!
Over 2,000 years ago Jesus came to us as a tiny infant, born in poverty in Bethlehem. One day, Christ will come again in glory. In this holy season of Advent, we prepare for all the ways he would come to us now. Below are some of the many opportunities available these important Advent days to help us ready our minds and hearts.

Reading material to take home – Advent reading material is available in the back of church for anyone who would like to take it home with them. We have separate books for families, for adults, and for seniors. Take any that are of interest to you.

Volunteer Opportunity – Family Volunteering Group is meeting Sat Dec 2nd at 10am to assemble care packages for the families served by SVDP’s Spirit of Christmas program and to make New Years’ cards for nursing homes. All supplies provided. No need to rsvp. Anyone of any age is welcome.

When & where is it? Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 5-8pm in Father Dowling Hall.

What is it? This women only event helps us remember to savor the blessings  within the Advent season. A group of friends/family (maximum of 8 women per table) bring tableware, decorations, and food for your table. Most Sacred Heart provides the fellowship, music, and guest speaker. Together we will laugh, share, eat, and be encouraged to remember what the season of Advent invites us to do – prepare our hearts for the birth of Jesus in the world today. All women aged 21+ are welcome!

What to expect? Doors open at 4:30pm. Welcome & housekeeping at 5pm. Pastor’s prayer at 5:05pm. Friendship & appetizers shared at 5:10pm. Live music performance at 5:40pm. Table discussion & dinner at 6pm. Guest speaker, table discussion and dessert at 6:30pm. Live music at 7:30pm. Closing prayer & song at 7:45pm. Clean up & dismissal at 8pm.

How to register? Choose to register as a hostess (for an entire table of a maximum of 8 women) or choose to register as an individual and we will place you at a table with others. (If you register as a hostess, please let the women at your table know they do not need to register themselves.)

Immaculate Conception Mass – Thursday, December 7th at 7pm and Friday, December 8th at 9am.

Advent Confession Times – Saturday December 9th and 16th from 10-11am and 3:00-4:15pm in Church confessionals.

Blessing of Expectant Families – At all of the 4th Sunday of Advent Masses the weekend of December 23-24 we will offer a blessing for all expectant families, including those awaiting adoption.

Church open for prayer – Is the seasonal hustle and bustle overwhelming? Take a break and spend some peaceful quiet time in prayer. Our Church will open Wednesday, December 20 from 8am-8pm.
